The Journey To A New Stacy!

It all started June 2, 2003. I go to a routine visit with my OB doctor while pregnant with Jared. The nurse takes my blood pressure. Looks at me puzzled then takes it again. She proceeds to tell me to lay down and went to get another nurse who proceeds to do the same thing. Both nurses walk out and my doctor walks in and does almost the same thing but then tells me that I am being admitted to the hospital and that I was at stroke level with my blood pressure. I was 21 at the time and have been on blood pressure medicine since. I have continued to gain weight since and have not taken care of myself for the last 15 years because I have been too busy taking care of my kids and others kids that I have always put myself last. I have been depressed, not taken care of myself and always said yes to whatever others needed from me. 6 months ago our family had a situation arise and our lives turned upside down. I had to find a job and no longer be a stay at home mom. But I then decided to go back to school and will become an elementary teacher when I graduate. But I needed to fix some other things and my world turned upside down on Monday July 14, 2014.
I decided I should make some appointments with eye doctor, dentist, and my primary doctor. I went to my doctor and he looked at my EKG from an earlier visit to the emergency room. It had a questionable episode and it was very concerning. As well as my blood work was alarming. I weighed in at 241 lbs. Not my largest a month ago I weighed in at 248 lbs. So I have lost 7 lbs. But when you look at a report that says you are morbidly obese it hits you things have go to change now!!! I have a fatty liver and high cholesterol as well but the high cholesterol cannot be worked on until the fatty liver is. So weight loss is what I need to do to control that as well as diet change. I am on not one but two blood pressure pills. As well as a pill for acid reflex, a sleeping pill because I cannot sleep, migraine medicine, and CPAP machine. I have severe back pain and joint pain daily as well as depression. Friday July 18, 2014 I will have a stress test.
My journey began as I left the doctors office on Monday. I am making a total transformation!!! I am now adding physical activity to my daily life. As well as taking almost all processed food from my diet as well as adding at least 2 liters of water to my diet daily. I am researching different ways of going about this transformation. I am using this blog as a way to make myself accountable and for my friends and family near and far to see my progress. As well as strangers!!!!!
